Description
The fifth activity-based webinar session entitled Population Synthesis and Household Evolution is the second in a series of technically-oriented webinars which will cover fundamental aspects of activity-based modeling systems. As activity-based modeling systems represent the activity-travel behavior of individuals through simulation, the creation of a regionally representative set of simulated households and persons is an essential first step in the modeling process. This session will cover the methods used to generate synthetic populations, how to specify and control input distributions, and how population synthesizers work. In addition, population synthesizer implementations and the emerging method of household evolution for forecasting future populations will be discussed.
