We are very excited to be bringing you a new eight-part webinar series on Forecasting Land Use Activities. This webinar series will be an update to the popular one-day seminar from several years ago. The fifth webinar in the series will focus on UrbanSim, a dynamic microsimulation model system for modeling urban development and transport. The webinar will begin with an overview of the model platform, including its theoretical foundations, software implementation, data requirements and outputs. It will discuss how models are developed within the system, and provide examples of alternative configurations of the model system, ranging from zone level to parcel level of detail. Case study applications will be presented, and a summary of strengths and limitations of the system.
