ITM2020 Keynote Speaker; Registration Open!

All,

We are thrilled to announce that Robert Lempert, renowned expert on
decision-making and uncertainty, will be our ITM2020 keynote speaker.

Robert Lempert is a principal researcher at the RAND Corporation and
Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for Longer Range Global Policy
and the Future Human Condition. His research focuses on risk management and
decision-making under conditions of deep uncertainty, with an emphasis on
climate change, energy, and the environment. Dr. Lempert is a chapter lead
author for the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC), and he wrote the book on decision making under uncertainty —
literally.

His insights into robust decision making have formed the foundation of
travel modeling community’s recent efforts to develop more useful forecasts
that account for risk and uncertainty in a systematic, quantitative manner,
including a lot of the work we will discuss at ITM. He has extensive
experience in communicating complex technical issues in an approachable
manner, and we look forward to learning from his experience and global
leadership on transforming uncertainty into opportunity, vulnerability into
resilience, and abstract models into concrete results.

Many thanks to Jeffrey Newman for making this keynote happen.
