Michigan DOT is hiring a Transportation Planner/Travel Demand Modeler in the Urban Travel Analysis unit.

This is a hybrid position and is a great fit for an entry-level professional looking to work in transportation planning or a transportation modeler/planner/engineer looking to work at a State DOT. This position plays a critical role in developing, updating, calibrating, and applying urban travel demand forecasting models for Michigan’s urbanized regions with a population over 50,000. The model and procedures are used in the development of the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) long-range plans, sub-state plans, corridor/sub-area studies, socio-economic (SE) analysis, economic impact, freight analyses, modal analysis, air quality conformity analysis, congestion management analysis, project level analysis, and work zone analysis.
