Description
The webinar focuses on how the Portland OR/Vancouver WA metropolitan region worked collectively to create the Portland Oregon Regional Transportation Archive Listing (PORTAL). We will cover:

The policy context for building and maintaining PORTAL.
An overview of the PORTAL 2.0 website and what’s inside.
How PORTAL data is being used for project development and decision-making.


Presenters
Dr. Kristin Tufte is a Research Assistant Professor at Portland State University, with a joint appointment in Computer Science and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Tufte manages PORTAL—the official Archived Data User Service (ADUS) for the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region. In addition, she leads projects on data quality, arterial data fusion, and advanced data stream systems. Her goals include applying her expertise in data management to problems in Intelligent Transportation Systems. Dr. Tufte has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a B.A. in Mathematics from St. Olaf College.
Deena Platman is a Principal Transportation Planner with Metro, the regional planning agency for the Portland metropolitan region. She currently manages Metro’s Regional Mobility Program, which coordinates the development, implementation and monitoring of transportation system management and operations (TSMO) strategies in partnership with TransPort, the regional TSMO advisory committee.. She received a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University and a B.A.in Political Science from University of California Los Angeles.
