Seeking data sets for undergrads and grad students

Dear colleagues:

The undergrads in my sophomore statistics class are wanting to earn extra credit by applying OLS to an n > 200 data set for any kind of interesting variable (for example, vmt across vehicles or network links, poverty rates across cities or countries, average SAT scores across universities) as a fxn of at least 10 reasonable covariates/explanatory variables. I wonder if you have any suggestions on valuable data repositories for them to access easily?

I also know of a terrific doctoral student in Iran that needs to finish up a PhD and really needs mode and destination choice data (n > 1000, I assume) that provides the skims (travel times and costs) between all OD pairs (by time of day, ideally: peak vs off-peak, for example) and destination attributes (for example, jobs and population across all possible destination zones). I have only old data of that type that'll be hard to find (for example, Austin travel surveys and skins from 2006). Do any of you know of something easily available to him and perhaps other grad students?

Thanks a million!!

PS Please don't hesitate to register for the January two-half-days Bridging Transportation Researchers event, so you can listen in and ask questions of people all over the world - for free! https://bridgingtransport.wordpress.com/

We keep a few that might be used on our data sharing hub https://datahub.cmap.illinois.gov/
Here is a link to the current data https://datahub.cmap.illinois.gov/group/current-regional-model-data (we information from past model runs in another group, but they contain the same sorts of data)
Read "data description(...).doc" to learn about the contents. The directory contains loaded networks, trip tables, travel skims etc. The trip generation excel spreadsheet would be a good source and I think it has about 20k records.
We have a couple of travel surveys https://datahub.cmap.illinois.gov/dataset?groups=travel-surveys
