Transportation Engineer II Job Opening at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) seeks to hire a transportation engineer to work in its Travel Forecasting and Emissions Analysis team, with a focus on a variety of challenging technical tasks mainly associated with developing, maintaining, applying, and supporting the regional travel demand model. This is an exciting time to join the MWCOG, since we have just begun the development of our next-generation travel demand forecasting model, known as the Gen3 Model.

MWCOG is an independent, nonprofit association that brings area leaders together to address major regional issues in the District of Columbia, suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia. The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (NCRTPB) is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and is one of several policy boards that meets at MWCOG. The NCRTPB is staffed by COG's Department of Transportation Planning (DTP).

The Washington, D.C. area has a lot to offer, in terms of cultural amenities, an educated workforce, and nearby parks and recreational opportunities.

I am not the hiring manager, but the hiring manager works within my team (and is a great supervisor!). The job posting and all the relevant information is available on our website:

https://www.mwcog.org/about-us/human-resources/jobdetails/?JobPositionId...

As noted in the job announcement, MWCOG cannot sponsor work visas, so you need to be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
