University of Tennessee/TDOT Travel Demand Modeler Position Open

The University of Tennessee Center for Transportation Research has an opening for a travel demand modeler to perform work for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.   This position will work on a team responsible for transportation modeling/planning and may participate in the development, monitoring, and coordination of transportation modeling or planning projects. This role requires considerable knowledge of and experience with the principles, methods, and practices of 4-Step travel demand models.  Duties/responsibilities include:

  • Operation, maintenance and updating of TN Statewide Travel Demand Model
  • Assisting with internal validation/calibration tasks and prepare a validation/calibration reports
  • Performing MPO Travel Demand Model Reviews
  • Providing input on data collection/procurement tasks
  • Conducting transportation project/plan analyses using statewide and regional models
